The Ultimate ’90s Workout Playlist

Photographed by Aaron Richter.
A good workout and a great playlist go hand in hand, but the perfect playlist is hard to come by. Songs that are too slow make the workout unbearable — too fast, and it's overwhelming. And, making sure the playlist length matches your workout? Next to impossible. We're pretty sure that back in the '90s, fitness buffs would only work out in half-hour intervals — the length of one side of a cassette tape, obviously. (Also, running a marathon with a walkman in tow must not have been an easy feat.) Cassette-tape drama aside, the '90s knew a thing or two about great music. And, they knew a thing or two about exercise, as these old-school fitness videos can attest. So, when, Erin Thomas, one of Soul Cycle's NYC instructors, created this perfectly '90s workout playlist, we just had to share. Go ahead — enjoy the nostalgia-fest you didn't even know you needed.
