If we noticed a well-dressed man walking by our place of work every single day, you can bet we'll start to say hello. But, Berlin photographer Zoe Spawton went one step further and decided to snap his photo. And, boy, are we so glad she did.
Spawton's photo collection is What Ali Wore, a style blog dedicated to an endlessly stylish older gentleman. No, he may not look like the Rumi Neelys or Susie Bubbles of the world, but Ali is a style blogger star all the same. A retired doctor and father of 18 (yes, 18), Ali is now a tailor, owner of approximately 80 suits, and has one hell of a sense of sartorial adventure. So far, it seems that no trend is truly off limits: denim on denim, monochrome, all-over prints, Ali's worn it all with his own special flair.
But there is a lot that we can learn from Ali — besides that we can should pair a matching baseball cap with a polished suit. And, at the very least, it's that great style is ageless, unexpected, and sometimes, right under your nose.
