So, we've been pretty obsessed with the idea of going toxin-free and eating local and sustainable for a long time. But in practice, that's actually really hard to do. So, we've been thinking fond thoughts of the chefs who share the space at Logan Square Kitchen and cook yummy things in the communal spaces, but we've never actually motivated our way over there to check out the treats, or, better still, participate in some actual cooking.
But then, we heard about this weekend's main event, housed in their toxin-free, locally focused spaces, and finally found the incentive to motivate: sweets! For a $1 admission fee (free for kids), you can wander their pastry market and snap up all the decadent treats your heart desires (and feel good about it, too — each vendor is a local, small-batch artisan!). The den of temptation will be up both days this weekend, featuring a cornucopia of offering from the likes of Sweet Spot Macarons and Celestial Kitchens, among many, many other confections who we can't wait to meet.
When: Saturday, November 12, and Sunday, November 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Logan Square Kitchen, 2333 N. Milwaukee Avenue (between West Medill and West Belden avenues); 773-342-2333.
