Do you still harbour low levels of regret and bitterness toward your parents because they refused to (financially) support your dreams of a career in showbusiness, and instead persuaded you to chose a more financially viable path in life? Do you feel that somewhere, deep inside you, there's a talented thespian just waiting to be coaxed out? Do you need to sort your Friday night?
Well, we might just have something to ease those teenage scars and the hole in your schedule. The V&A is rounding off the week with one of its rather splendid Friday Late events, and this one sounds like a good 'un because the theme is red carpet.

In celebration of its Hollywood Costume exhibition, the museum is bringing a bit of A-list sparkle to a dreary January night, and it's the perfect opportunity to give your inner diva a proper night out (she'll love you for it, she really will). Guests are invited to dress as their favourite film characters, take a trip down the red carpet and then step behind the scenes. We're currently weighing up the pros and cons of Jack Sparrow versus Darth Vader, if you must know. (Try not to steal our costume ideas, please.)
They'll also be improvised film-making with Mischief Theatre, flash mobs recreating famous dance scenes, as well as screen test photo opportunities, mini movie makeovers and a talk with curator Deborah Nadoolman Landis and Oscar nominated Lincoln costume designer Joanna Johnston.
We genuinely can't think of a better way to get into the awards-season spirit...
Red Carpet Friday Late at the V&A, Friday January 25, 6.30 p.m. until 10 p.m. All events are free, and places are on a first come first serve basis so get in there quickly!
