New Yorkers aren't exactly known for cheery expressions and over-the-top friendliness — shocker, we know. In fact, city dwellers are a pretty straight-faced group. But, we're changing that in our new series with Crest 3D White, Smile Showdown. In it, we send two R29ers to the streets to see who can make notoriously tight-lipped NYers crack.
If ever there were two editors up to the task, it's associate entertainment editor Vanessa Golembewski and senior market editor Bobby Schuessler. They're both outgoing, charming, and hilarious, but only one can win this contest. So, with Union Square as their battleground, they're walking up to anyone and everyone to see if they can get even a hint of a smile. And, with only two rules — no bribing and no revealing it's a competition — they pretty much have free rein. Oh, and just five minutes.
