Pretty Little Liars
marathons are de rigueur around these parts, and we admit that without even an ounce of self-consciousness. And so, when we had the chance to play dress-up in stylist Jamie Schneider's L.A. closet and she actually called up client and friend Ashley Benson mid-shoot, we had to control the flames of our inner fangirls just a little bit. Ever since Benson's role in Spring Breakers, we've been more than a little curious about the girl behind the balaclava.

Cut to chilling with Benson in her West Hollywood home on the day after Halloween. We talked costumes over necessarily large coffees and discovered a mutual love of Body by Simone. As if earning a new bestie wasn't bonus enough, our wardrobe raid unearthed such prizes as twin Balenciaga boots, a basket-weave Chanel bag, and a healthy helping of Valentino. Benson kind of has the whole West Coast Rodeo-Drive-meets-Hypebeast thing nailed: She loves a good Saint Laurent, but is just as happy in a UNIF bomber jacket and Supra sneaks. Our kind of girl, you know?

She was also more than down for some quality dress-up time, throwing on everything from a pair of lemon-yellow Maison Michel ears to a ruby-red blazer (with matching lipstick, of course) and a mustard-yellow cowl-neck sweater that wouldn't look out of place on Daria Werbowy in a Céline campaign. Oh, and we got to play with her puppies, too. In short, it was our dream day. See it in pics, ahead.

My favorite way to spend a Friday night is:
“At home, watching movies and maybe doing a little dinner. Maybe.”

My go-to outfit is:
“Probably jeans, a white T-shirt, and a leather jacket and boots.”

If I could play one person in their biopic, it would be:
“Lucille Ball.”

The character I've taken style notes from is:
“I guess, Hanna from PLL. She’s a little bit more girly in real life, but I’ve taken some ideas that I’ve worn on the show into my personal style. Whether it be a blazer or a dress or a floral print, which I don’t really do, I’ve liked it when I’ve worn it on the show.”

My guilty pleasure is:
“Taco Bell. Junk food.”

“I’m literally always in a leather jacket. It’s my favorite staple piece, and I definitely could not live without it...

"[My favorite one is] from rag & bone, and it’s actually a funny story. It was like $3,000 and I got it for $500 at Intermix. It was on sale, then on sale again, then half off... It was pretty amazing. That’s like an insane deal. Maybe it wasn’t $3000, maybe it was closer to $2000, but still... I wear it every single day.”

“Always dress [so] you’re comfortable. If you’re in an insane outfit, you’re not going to want to walk around that much. If you’re going to an event or party or dinner don’t go too crazy, because your feet are going to hurt; you’re going to feel uncomfortable. Just wear anything you can spend a couple hours in. You’re stuck in it. Nothing too tight to where you can’t breathe, because you’re just going to want to change into sweats.”

My favorite red carpet look:
“Was a Saint Laurent bow tie, pants, a blazer, and a white shirt. It was so awesome.”

“I love everything at Saint Laurent. Literally, that could be my wardrobe for the rest of my life, so that’s missing in my closet. I like a lot of Balenciaga. I have two pairs of their boots and I wear them every day.”

“I love going to restaurants [in Los Angeles], so Poche’s is one of my favorite restaurants. I love sushi. La Scala has the best salad in the world. Sunset Towers I always go to. I sit outside there every day. [I could] sit there for seven hours and have a great dinner, which has actually happened.”

We gotta admit Benson's sunglass collection is pretty sweet.

“Boxing is really fun. I haven’t done that in a while, but it’s such an amazing workout. Pilates I’m such a fan of, it really changes your body. That one I swear by. Body by Simone is really good, too! I did that for the first time and I loved it. I was hurting so bad through half the class, I almost had the sit down. That was pretty intense.”

The classics, of course.

“[In the] morning, I do Kiehl's eye cream and a moisturizer from La Prairie. I also do [La Prairie] eye cream, and then that’s really it for my morning routine. Oh, and I put Rodin oil [and] coconut oil in my hair. At night, I use my Clarisonic, which is so awesome. It completely gets everything off your face. Then, I just try different face washes here and there. Christie Kidd makes a really great face wash and a whole line. She’s a dermatologist, and it’s amazing! [It] literally has changed my skin.”

We'd try to find an excuse to wear this as much as possible.

“I had a feeling [the Spring Breakers wardrobe] would become a major thing just because it was so crazy. Especially the one-piece outfits that Vanessa [Hudgens] and I wear when we go on our shooting spree. They were really crazy. We weren’t allowed to wear them outside, because there was paparazzi everywhere we were filming the movie. We always had to have robes on, but the ski masks and bikinis were so cool. It was all neon. Really, it was awesome.”

“If I wasn’t an actress…my one dream, I’m a really bad cook, but I really want to learn and I want to go to Paris and go to school for it. I’m a foodie at heart, but all I can make is, like, scrambled eggs. So, I’m working on it.”

“I always look at [Jamie Schneider, my stylist] and I’m like, 'I want to wear everything you’re wearing.' If I’m out shopping for something, I send her a picture, ask her if it works and how I can wear it. She’s got me more into wearing heels and kind of putting outfits together, coats and blazers. I would never know how to dress myself, so she helps me out. A lot.”
