5 Things To Do This Week In Miami

Grand Prixe Of Miami
Here's a high-octane event both you and your fella might like: Check out the fast track with the Grand Prixe of Miami, which has defending champions Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas hoping to bring home another victory. Also, lots of beer.
Where: Homestead-Miami Speedway, One Speedway Boulevard, 305-230-5000.
When: Sunday, April 29. $30.

Francesco Simeti at the Vizcaya Museum
Artist Francesco Simeti has been commissioned to literally dig up the past at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. In a site-specific exhibit, the artist carefully delved into the hallowed estates closets, pulling out long-forgotten relics and arranged them as found objects in the space. Moving, and a fascinating new way to see one of Miami's greatest institutions.
Where: Vizcaya Museum, 3251 South Miami Avenue, 305-250-9133.
When: Through May 21st.

The Village at Gulfstream Park for Fashion Walk
As a part of LIVESTRONG's commitment to get locals excited about the LIVESTRONG race event in October, the organization is getting a little fashion-forward. For the first Wednesday of each month leading up the race, event participants can hang out and enjoy a themed evening with local shops and restaurants lending time and goods, hoping to raise money and get people to sign up for the race. The first theme? Fashion, of course.
Where: The Village at Gulfstream Park, 501 South Federal Highway.
When: 6 p.m to 9 p.m, Wednesday, May 2.

AquaGirl
While AquaGirl sounds like a bad comic book character, for Miamians, it's the only time we can get together and party for a purpose. The largest fundraiser for women in the country is kicking off another great festival, hoping to bring awareness to LBT women's health around the country. Sorry guys, not an event for you!

Where: Various locations
When: Wednesday, May 2 through Sunday, May 6.

Get in some last-minute Mother's Day shopping with an accessories trunk show at Bloomingdale's. Gala by Daniela Swaebe — a fine jewelry designer who specializes in baubles Mom would adore, is showcasing her wares for those of us who have delayed in getting Mother what she really wants.

Where: Bloomingdale's in Aventura Mall, 19555 Biscayne Boulevard, 305-792-1000.
When: 12-8 p.m., Saturday, May 11 to Sunday, May 12.

Lily Tomlin
Maybe you've heard of Lily Tomlin. Maybe you've seen her in one of her acclaimed movies, like I Heart Huckabees or Prairie Home Companion. Maybe you've been as obsessed with this funny lady as we have been our whole lives, and maybe you shouldn't miss this night for the world. Maybe.

Where: The Arsht Center, 1300 Biscayne Boulevard, 305-949-6722.

When: 7:30 p.m., Sunday, May 6. $30-$80.
