When Lucie woke up, She did a 10 minute breathing exercise, focusing on her inhale and exhale.










lucie Decided To have a cup of green tea every morning along with the breathing exercises.







lucie also meditated on monday to help extend her mind into a higher state of awareness.

tuesday's breathing exercise was pranayama, The Practice of controlling One's breath.




How to
alternate nostril breathe

place one finger on the right nostril. inhale through the left. then close the left nostril. remove finger on the right. exhale through the right. then alternate.







tech detox

to be more present, lucie decided to tuck away all her electronics to detox from the tech and focus on a diy project.








diy shelves

lucie painted triangular shelves in calming colors and then hung them up.










lucie started wednesday with equal breathing, Which can also balance you within.










inhale for a count of four. exhale for a count of four. this calms the nervous system.














japanese green tea ceremony

lucie went to the east village to be part of a traditional green tea ceremony.










the ceremony begins with three walks carrying different containers and tools.










She bows before beginning the ceremony. then the tea master goes through the steps slowly.










then the tea master scoops the matcha powder in the bowl. adds water and whisks away.










the experience of having matcha at a tea ceremony can be very different than having it at home.












lucie started of thursday with the 4-7-8 breathing exercise.










this breathing system can be a natural tranquilizer for the nervous system.










kitchen clear out

thursday's activity was a kitchen clear out. organizing can help you realize what you do and do not need physically and mentally.










lucie ended the week by taking a mindfulness walk in her apartment.








shodo

friday's activity was shodo, the art of japanese calligraphy.










lucie followed a long a shodo book and used japanese rice paper and brushes.
