Believing that weddings ought not bring out the bridezilla in each of us, Stone Fox Bride — a high-fashion boutique in Manhattan — was founded on the principle that planning a wedding is also a process of self-discovery. Molly Guy, creative director at SFB, is our source for the nontraditional bride. This article was originally published on October 4, 2013.
I met Simon through a friend of mine from college. They were in a band together at the time called Stylofone. I was totally mesmerized by his long hair and amazing guitar skills. I remember thinking he might be a bit of a handful, but I was still impressed by his head banging. We were pretty wild in our early days of dating. I remember we drank a lot of whiskey and went to a Megadeth concert. It was my first time I got up on a dude’s shoulders during a show.
Simon has an incredible sense of humor, which for me is probably the most important thing. He also has a really big heart, is intuitive and incredibly compassionate, not to mention that my friends completely adored him. It was pretty early on when I realized that he was “the one.” There were so many times when my face literally hurt from smiling and laughing so much after hanging out with him. We were so into each other that he almost even said those three magic words way too soon…like within a couple weeks.
