Coming down from the high of music-festival season? Not to worry: The annual Sound Bites food and music fest returns this weekend, and will have you back in the feel-good spirit in no time. A joint effort between D.C. Central Kitchen and the 9:30 Club, the festival highlights 25 of D.C.'s best eateries, as well as champion mixologists and local music acts. With the $40 ticket, you'll be treated to outdoor and indoor performances by Lee Fields and the Expressions, Deathfix, DJ Will Eastman, and others, and you'll have your pick of small dishes from the likes of H & Pizza, Indique, Rappahannock River Oysters, Pearl Dive, and Taco Bamba. See? You can get a little more use out of that perfect festival outfit.
