Sneaker Freak! Nike + Cassette Playa Revamp the Blazer
comments
We just got word that Nike's design team has combined efforts with UK-based creative icon Carri Mundane (aka Cassette Playa) to give the iconic Blazer sneaker an update. The Cassette Playa Blazer was first created for Carri's Spring/Summer '08 "Future Primitive" runway show, which was about "urban shamanism" - or as Carri sees it: "ancient Amazonian hunting rituals adapted by a gang of skaters in a post apocalyptic city". The original Blazer was released in 1973, to much acclaim from sneaker freaks everywhere, thanks to its previously unparalleled functionality, and its streamlined design. We're not necessarily sneaker-people, but this pair make us want to change our ways. We're loving the old-school b-ball style, and how about that color! Amazing! The Cassette Playa Blazer will be available at select Nike Sportswear retailers. Please visit www.nikesportswear.com for locations and more information.
