If Only All Birthdays Were As Adorable As This Tea Party

It's pretty obvious that Jeanne Chan, curator of ShopSweetThings, has a keen eye for cool. But, when she's not searching out new, must-know shops in her native SF, the bona fide Pinterest whiz — and mother of two — plans playdates with her equally stylish mom friends. The good news? We're tagging along!
Did I ever tell you that my birthday and Hayden’s birthday are one week apart? Hers comes before mine, so for the past three years, I’ve gotten so consumed about planning her birthday that I tend to forget my own. In a way, I’m okay with that. I’ve always been a bit of a party-pooper when it comes to my own birthday. And, last weekend, when I turned 35, I wasn’t going to do anything at all.
My husband, George, was a little disappointed to hear that. He said sometimes your birthday is not just about yourself, it’s about letting other people who loves you to celebrate with you. How would you feel if Hayden and Hadley didn’t want to celebrate their birthdays with you? Okay, I guess he has a point. I would feel really hurt. So, last weekend, I did something I’ve never done before, I threw myself a birthday tea party!
