Shop And Save The Planet: The 900 Shops Go Green

Money saved by making minor changes definitely adds up in the long run. One of Chicago’s shopping giants, the 900 North Michigan Avenue Shops, decided that it’s time to take action and finally go green. Not only will this change save one kind of green, but it will also benefit another kind—the environment. The 900 Shops recently outfitted the mall with three green roofs, which are supposed to give the interior a much cooler sensation. Think about it this way: When you’re near cement and asphalt, it’s usually extremely hot, and you just want to rush in Bloomingdales or Chanel just so you can take a breath again. The 900 Shops didn’t stop there, they also installed ChargePoint hybrid car-charging stations and private bike racks encouraging people to take the nicer way out. While shopping at Michael Kors, J.Crew, and all your other faves, make sure to stop by and check out the gorgeous green roofs located on levels nine, 10, and 15.
