So, we rounded up the most tranquil body-twisting events to celebrate our love for the downward dog and other bendy poses. Sir Francis Drake Hotel Tuesday Classes


If we could dream up an ideal yoga experience, we think this month-long free class series at Sir Francis Drake Hotel would be its match. Every Tuesday, we can twist into any position inside the hotel’s Starlight Room. Be there at 7 a.m. and watch the sun rise with the room’s panoramic views of the city.

Athleta’s Vinyasa Flow Classes


Loyal to Vinyasa-style yoga? We’ve got the spot for you! On Saturdays, head over to Athleta’s free class headed up by Lindsay Foreman to feel the effects of a centered core, plus the positivity meditations the instructor is known for.

To amp up the event, acts MC Yogi, DJ Dragonfly, and Todd Boston will be on the scene to provide energizing tunes. Trust, you won’t be missing the cramped indoor studio. Yoga Health Foundation’s Free Yoga Week

Sure, reaching a state of nirvana is reason enough to fork over some dinero, but turns out, it’s not totally necessary. The Yoga Health Foundation is offering a whole free week of “oming” with the guidance of nearly 2,000 instructors. Want in? All you have to do is register, choose your preferred studio, and print out a Yoga Month card — easy, peasy!

Yoga Philosophy Lecture

Every yogi is well aware that getting into the lotus pose is just as much about the psyche as it is the body. To help tap us into the right state of mind, Rebecca Lerner is teaching the guiding principles of Tapas, which translates to “fiery discipline.” Intense! Up for a little enlightenment?
