Who Knew? New York Times Editors Get Crazy With Their Nails

nowness-em
Newspapers and their writers can be seen as impossibly straight-laced, but behind The New York Times' T Magazine is an editor with a penchant for nail art. (Who knew?) Inspired by politics, fashion, and everything in between, Sally Singer has collaborated with nail artist Maki Sakamoto for NOWNESS to design five manicures and explain the thought processes behind them. Sakamoto and Singer's creations run the gamut from delicate and trendy to a pattern that's nothing short of social commentary (nothing less than we'd expect from The Grey Lady). We've never thought so analytically about nail art before, but these bizzarely hypnotic pictures make us feel that maybe we've only scratched the surface.
