Celebrate All Things Tasty (And Quirky) With Runcible Spoon’s New Issue

If you're fearless when it comes to ordering the weirdest thing on the menu — and there's a place in your heart for Easy Cheese — you'll want to clear your schedule for Thursday night, when local food zine The Runcible Spoon hosts a little shindig for its new fall issue. Dubbed "The Gross Issue," the new edition offers a wonderfully weird array of recipes, a photo essay of the most unappetizing food on Instagram, and a review of the questionable ice cream sundae at Logan Circle resto The Pig (since it's lunchtime, we'll spare you the details).

To unveil the ninth installment of the zine, the team is hosting a party at Kafe Bohem — the new coffee and dessert bar next door to Bistro Bohem — on Thursday. Expect to meet contributors, mingle with other food fans, and take in a spread of some of the world's most unusual foods. And don't worry, you'll be able to order some liquid courage from the bar to wash down all the weirdness.
When: Thursday, September 20, from 6-8 p.m.
Where: Kafe Bohem at Bistro Bohem, 600 Florida Avenue NW; 202-735-5895.
