Move over, Madonna. Step aside, Janet. There’s a new star in town, and she’s got more moves than of all your favorite pop stars combined. Once a Lakers Girl, Paula Abdul quickly became one of the most successful choreographers in the music biz — remember Janet Jackson’s “Nasty” routine from a couple years ago? She had Paula to thank for that one. And, as it turns out, Paula Abdul is more than just an awesome choreographer. “Straight Up,” which debuted late last year, has been climbing the charts, and just hit #1 on the Hot 100. With a voice to match her booty-shaking, the song has all the funky R&B grooves that Refinery readers crave. Next time you’re out on the town, forget the rocks, you want it “Straight Up.”
