For 40 years, the New York Foundation For The Arts has been supporting creatives—whether they be artists, authors, composers, dancers, or filmmakers—at the most critical moments in the career. Their grants, seminars, workshops, and resources have given everyone from directors Julie Taymor and Spike Lee to artists Tara Donovan and Marilyn Minter some much-needed ignition at the make-it-or-break-it stage. So, it was fitting that their 40th Anniversary benefit dinner was titled "Hall of Fame," honoring past NYFA beneficiaries including Oscar-nominated director Todd Haynes (Mildred Pierce, Far From Heaven) and acclaimed photographer Andres Serrano. Guests like Vanessa and Victoria Traina, Max Snow, Timo Weiland, Bettina Prentice, and Nina Freudenberger helped toast the former generation of cultural movers and shakers while drinking to the new generation of artists we'll be celebrating 40 years from now.
