New Jewelry Designer To Watch: Meghan Farrell

If

Meghan Farrell

wasn't a jeweler, she'd definitely be a psychologist. The 25-year-old Tribeca native's debut collection, Ologies, which hit Opening Ceremony last month (and arrives at the Ace Hotel next week), was inspired by her psychology professor at Sarah Lawrence, who schooled her on Auto-Kinetic and Chaos theories. While we don't necessarily understand all the medical references (she riffs on the themes in detail on her eponymous blog), who doesn't like a sexy doctor? We're majorly feeling the Brain Promise ring and the Neurology pendant—both representing the power of the mind and the will to survive. In case that's too deep, she also offers Cross rings (symbolizing a kiss), The Wheel necklace (stability) or The Safety Pin pendant (security). Farrell works in a variety of precious metals, so you can get your smarts on at every price (from $245 for a brass Brain ring to $1,400 for a gold Triple Neurology pendant). If you want to dig a little bit deeper, Meghan gives private consultations for building your own dream piece. That's one science class you don't want to miss!

The collection is sold at Opening Ceremony New York.
