Found! The Locally Made Coat Every San Franciscan Should Own

If there's one thing you can't live without in San Francisco, it's a good mid-weight coat to get you through the temperamental climate of the city by the bay. And, what better way to rock your Bay Area pride than with a locally made design?
When I found this local S.F. designer, I was ecstatic. Trudy, of Poppy Von Frohlich, churns out cool coats in small, limited (read: exclusive) runs. She creates a new coat roughly every six weeks, updating her shop with new pre-order editions before sending them off to be hand-sewn to order right here in San Francisco.
In her words, her coats are uniquely made for the "Northern California lifestyle," that can be anything from taking a jaunt down a foggy coastal trail, going whale watching, or stopping by the local farmers' market. My favorite of the collection is the Lumber Jane Coat, made of sturdy 100% Carhartt cotton and constructed to last a lifetime whether you're trekking through the Muir Woods or taking a leisurely stroll through a park. You'll probably catch me doing the latter.
Poppy Von Frolich Lumber Jane Coat in Golden Honey, $285, available at Poppy Von Frolich; Madewell dress, Rachel Comey Mars Boots, Hansel From Basel socks, Lawrence Fox Tote.
