This Sunday Minus Times Celebrates Literature, Colbert Style

1

Some hear “minus times” and probably think “ooh boy ... math”. We hear
Minus Times
, and our hearts race as we are reminded that the super-hip literary magazine is celebrating its 20th birthday this year. Allow us to bring you into the light.

Hunter Kennedy began Minus Times in 1992 as a one-page, hand-typed missive. It was soon picked up and published by record label Drag City, and has had an endlessly positive reception ever since.
With contributors ranging from Dave Eggers to Wells Tower to Stephen Colbert, Minus Times has impressed literary junkies and casual readers alike. After twenty years, it's decided to celebrate. In addition to the publication of The Minus Times Collected: Twenty Years/Thirty Issues, the mag has invited everyone for “fraternizing, beer-drinking, etc.” this Sunday. Head to the back bar at the Gutter between 6 and 9 p.m. for a reading, a liquor raffle, and a good time.

When: Sunday, September 29, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Where: The Gutter, 200 North 14th Street (between Nassau and Wythe avenues); Brooklyn.
