There's really nothing standard about the new Shop at The Standard Downtown. And, really, would you expect any less from the folks who brought you bright red rooftop playgrounds and a lobby equipped with Plexiglass compartment for scantily dressed women to lounge? Andre Balazs is known for his innovative hotels and high-concept spaces, and the new shop at The Standard is his best retail spot yet. This brilliantly curated store was redesigned by the skilled in-house team and Commune, the renowned L.A.-based interior firm, and is filled with the ephemera of Standard culture. The shop is peppered with cool clothing, stylish shoes, awesome beauty finds, jewelry from our favorite designers (hello, Big Bang earrings!), killer shades, and some adult-only playthings, so whether you want to be naughty or look nice, they've got something for everyone. The big fete to toast the opening is on August 24th, but until then head downtown for some upscale goodies at one of L.A.'s most titillating new haunts.
