Turns out teenage girls are the ones determining what the family loosens its purse strings for, and have a big say in dictating all purchases, from food to fashion. Fortunately, the stats found teenage boys exert no influence whatsoever (we suppose zit cream and lad mags don’t have universal appeal), and older children who still live at home also have less of a say.
