Now that it actually looks like we may be approaching warmer temps, our minds have started to shift from How the hell do I make this puffy pile of moisture-starved straw look like hair again? to How do I make my hair look like I summer in Ibiza? Well, let me introduce you to Leonor Greyl's Algues et Fleurs curl-enhancing spray.
Silicone-free and full of good-for-your-hair seaweed and collagen, this stylist-favorite spray promises to enhance your curls and restore their shape and bounce. I'm not lucky enough to call myself a curly girl — instead, I've got a head full of very fine, semi-straight hair. And yet, this curl-enhancing spray worked like a curl-creating spray for me. It truly is a multi-hyphenate talent.
At a recent event for the brand, I was chatting with super-stylist Peter Butler, who informed me that he gives a bottle of this to his celeb clients to help them achieve that fresh-from-the-beach texture and curl that they crave. Considering he tends to the locks of everyone from Alessandra Ambrosio to my personal hair spirit animal, Diane Kruger, I went ahead and took that advice as gospel.
The closest thing I naturally have to a curl is a limp, sad little bend that just kind of hangs flatly against my head. But, a few spritzes of this stuff, coupled with my go-to hair-twisting technique, created soft, gently tousled, beachy waves that lacked the crunchiness and tackiness of many other wave sprays I've tried.
And, while I can't personally attest to the spray's powers on actual curly hair, according to hairstylist Johnnie Sapong, Algues et Fleurs can be sprayed on curly or permed hair while dry and will protect it while bringing back bounce and restoring the hair's vitality. So, basically, this is the magical purple unicorn of curl products — one that works equally well on curly and straight hair.
