That's nothing to complain about, but sometimes you just need a break from the hustle and bustle without totally unplugging from the city. So, in search of a weekend that was part getaway and part exploration, we turned to L.A. native Leore Hayon.

The 24-year-old actress and model has been in the City of Angels all her life, so you can bet she knows not only where to go within city limits but the best escapes, too. The spot that tops her list isn't Palm Springs or a trip to wine country in Santa Barbara — it's Joshua Tree in the Mojave Desert.
