You don't have to visit more than one Westside beach or Hollywood pool to know that one-piece swimsuits are having a moment in L.A. Cutouts, plunging necklines, quirky prints — they're all en vogue on the best coast, in a big way. Which, at first, gives most of us a rush of giddy happiness. After all, they're more forgiving and universally flattering, right? Not so much. It turns out more fabric doesn't necessarily equal a better fit.
"Full-pieces are actually harder to wear than bikinis," celebrity stylist Caley Rinker told us. Wait, what? "Most of them can cut you in areas that are unflattering, and you have to be really in shape to pull off the fashion-forward full-pieces in stores now."
So how exactly does one embrace the trend and find a full-piece well suited for her shape? Luckily, Rinker took a break from clients like Gwyneth Paltrow, Kelly Osbourne, and Gillian Jacobs to help us put together this handy-dandy guide. Ahead, read her expert tips for finding a one-piece that's right for you, plus the best suits to shop right now.
