The Most Awesome, Artsy, And Free (!) Date Idea In D.C.

There's something to be said for the classic, run-of-the-mill date — the comfortable routine of dinner and a movie lets you relax, since sushi and a rom-com don't usually entail any curveballs. But in a city where so much is free, awesome, and totally unexpected, why be boring?
Personally, we love a good out-of-the-box date idea, and the Hirshhorn Museum is supplying the coolest one yet later this month. Starting March 22 and running through mid-May, artist Doug Aitken will use 11 high-definition video projectors to beam a seamless moving image on the building's circular exterior, to the tune of 15-plus covers of "I Only Have Eyes For You." We can't think of a better romantic rendezvous than a trip through the museum, a quick bite at the Museum of the American Indian's amaze cafeteria, and then settling down in the Hirshshorn's Sculpture Garden to take in the outdoor exhibition. Sounds rad, right? The best part: If you're only just setting your sights on that special someone, you've got three weeks to work up the nerve to ask them out. C'mon, you can do it! (Good Design)
