Two Heritage Brands Are Even Better Than One, Frye X Coach Is Proof

Work boots generally go one of two ways — they're so stiff, clunky, and bulky that the only appropriate place to wear them is the site of your apartment remodel (because that happens so often), or they're so "fashion-forward" that any actual work-boot qualities get lost in translation. Until now.
Two classic American brands that really know how to do leather right — they've got over 220 years between them! — have teamed up to create a new collection of work boots which strike exactly that impossible balance. The Frye for Coach collab reflects the chic design sensibilities of Coach and the don't-fix-it-if-it-ain't-broke functionality of The Frye Company, and consists of five styles of boots that are rugged but sleek, hardy but wearable, and excellent for stomping through slush and snow, but won't get you weird looks at the bar.
In particular, we love the Fur Lined Engineer Boot and the Short Metallic Veronica Boot. Of course, the leather will take some breaking in (trust us, we're still working on it — ouch!), but you’ll be depending on these pairs all winter, just as soon as they start submitting.
