Gone are the days of flicking through 50+ pages of floral dresses you don’t need. To make your life easier, ASOS has stepped up its game this season, debuting a fall ’12 collection with some seriously chic (and varied) offerings. Channelling a major Acne vibe, with boxy shapes and minimalist details, these looks say Swedish-cool without the crazy-high cost in krona.
As is often the way with fall,
a surge of aubergine, black, and navy stripes make an appearance, mirroring the season's graying skies and darkening nights. Staying close to the base-color benchmarks, ASOS prints florals on jersey and adds bright white-collared shirts so as to shed a little light on the season.
Taking the lead from the masters of boyish cool, the line makes a nod to Alexander Wang's sport-chic style and the aforementioned sharp silhouettes of Acne. The result? Androgyny crafted into chunky knits, cropped shirts, wide-leg pants, and woolen overalls, along with some token girly deets like peplum hems and skater skirts. And though we vowed to banish baseball caps to the bottom of our high-school gym bags, we'll break our pinky promises now for these luxe leather ones.
