This Couple Made Their Love Of Japanese Animation A Part Of Their Wedding

By Nicole Piquant

Kathleen and Matt met in their college Japanese class and quickly bonded over their love for video games and Japanese animation — and these are exactly the themes they featured in their unique wedding at The Stillwell House in downtown Tuscon, AZ. The ceremony took place in the courtyard, and the pair marked their commitment to each other with a unity cactus.

The bride and groom wanted their wedding to have an elegant feel to it, while still incorporating animation elements — a seemingly impossible combination to successfully pull off — and yet, the pair found a way to make it work.

With the lush greenery and the early-20th-century architecture of The Stillwell House, their big day had a vintage feel amongst the quirky details. Click through to see how Kathleen and Matt pulled their two themes together on their wedding day.
