Budget Bride? How This Girl Nailed It

Believing that weddings ought not bring out the bridezilla in each of us, Stone Fox Bride — a high-fashion boutique in Manhattan — was founded on the principle that planning a wedding is also a process of self-discovery. Molly Guy, creative director at SFB, is our source for the nontraditional bride. This article was originally published on November 1.
We both grew up in NYC. Ben lived downtown and I lived uptown, but we had friends in common. We first met in ninth grade when he visited a friend and sat in on my English class. Our eyes met across the classroom, and we both felt this intense connection. I was shy and never would have made a move. Months later, we were at the same party and he was about to ask me out, when his friend got into a fight on the other side of the room. He went to his friend's rescue and promptly got thrown out of the party. That night, a different guy asked me out and we ended up dating for the next five years.
