Blushing Beauty: A Local Makeup Guru Talks Summer Trends

In our opinion, the sun's glow can't take the place of a flawless application of blush — especially if the rays don't work in your favor. And, while we know it's still the middle of spring (or sprinter, on some days), it's not too early to start thinking about what you'll be putting on your face (aside from SPF, of course) this summer.
Enter, local beauty blogger Nicole Pearl — a.k.a. The Beauty Girl, who has written for national pubs including InStyle, Allure, and Cosmo, while making regular television appearances on shows like Today and Windy City Live. When it comes to our cheekers, Pearl claims that this summer's blush is "high-tech," meaning you'll see everything from "Amazonian clay enriched formulas to self-balancing shades."
As for colors, what do you think of bubble-gum pink? Or bold coral? Pick your poison, because you'll see both hues (and then some) at department store counters and drugstore shelves. But to help you weed out the good from the bad and the just plain ugly, Pearl has narrowed down her top three picks — complete with a tried-and-tested review — to ensure your cheeks look nothing less than perfectly pinched. We leave you with few hints: Stila, Tarte, and Topshop, but click here to read Pearl's full report.
