On a quest for the next big thing in the food industry, sisters Danielle and Laura Kosann have begun the journey with The New Potato. Profiling chefs, restauranteurs, and celebrities alike with cuisine questionnaires, the world of dining has reached a whole new level of delish. This week, the ladies chat with Fashion Toast herself.
For blogger Rumi Neely, fashion is less just something you wear, and more of an exploration. Her site, Fashion Toast, takes her and her audience around the world in a kind of style diary that stands out from other personal style blogs. We always want everything she features — it’s actually a bit of a problem. We stopped by The Little Door in Los Angeles (one of Neely’s favorite spots) for tidbits on everything health, food and fashion from the blogger herself. Clearly, the shoot couldn’t have been easier, and we were rushing to Reformation afterwards.
What would be your ideal food day?
A homemade almond milk latte and a spinach, strawberry, banana, coconut water, and almond smoothie for breakfast. Salad and green juice at Mauro’s Cafe on Melrose for lunch. Dinner at Brushstroke in Tribeca.
What’s your drink?
A Moscow Mule with eight times more ginger and lime than is required to qualify it as such.
What are some of your healthy routines?
Being open to talking to anyone and not being able to sit still.

What’s your afternoon snack?
Any roasted seaweed product, goji berries and almonds, and a carrot/orange/ginger juice.
What’s always in your fridge and why?
Taste Nirvana coconut water, strawberries, Champagne, and hot sauce. I haven’t been cooking a ton lately.
What are you favorite places to travel to?
Tokyo, Paris, Stockholm, Palm Springs, Lake Tahoe, and anywhere I haven’t been before.
What won’t you travel without?
My Canon and go-to lenses, Time, one French moisturizer or another, Molami earbuds, a Puku portable iPhone charger, Caudalie Beauty Elixir, scissors, one of each shoe type I own, pocket heaters, Nina Ricci’s ballet bag, Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment, and apples. When I’m feeling crazy, I cook quinoa and put it in tiny jars to have in-flight — but those only make it through security about half the time.
Your go-to airport outfit?
Men’s white T-shirt, leather pants by BLKDNM or J.Brand or Ragdoll long johns, a huge sweater or the heaviest jacket I’m taking with me, espadrilles or boots, and a scarf cum blanket.

What are your vices?
Byredo candles, the Alexander Wang spring ’14 collection, and smallish shoulder bags.
What’s your night and morning beauty routine?
In the morning I shower as soon as possible, because otherwise I don’t believe I’m awake. I figure out breakfast while my hair dries, and spend about fifteen minutes getting ready – a large percentage of that being eyelash-focused. My favorite shampoo and conditioner right now are Klorane and Tsubaki and I use avocado oil on my skin so I come out pre-moisturized. At night I’ll take my makeup off with DHC Cleansing Oil or Bioderma Crealine and moisturize with argan oil or Rodin Olio Lusso.
If you could pick one other person in the world to switch closets with, who would it be?
I’ve been pretty fanatical about making mine into exactly what it is now. I’m good not switching.
Five things you’re loving right now:
Noe lingerie, this top I got by Phoebe English whose label reads ‘100% elastic‘, everything Jonathan Simkhai, the cayenne pepper flavor of Health Ade Kombucha, One More Thing by BJ Novak.
What are your favorite cities for food? Where do you go to in each?
Tokyo for my grandma’s house, the Cerulean Tower breakfast and the best sushi obviously. The Beet Box Cafe in Haleiwa, HI for everything there. The Little Door, Chateau Marmont, and Erewhon in Los Angeles. Public, Cafe Mogador, and Freemans in New York.
If you could have a dinner party, with any five people living or dead, who would be there? What would you eat?
Jack Handey, Mark Twain, Andy Warhol, Little Esther, and Roald Dahl. We would order in a traditional smorgasbord.
Dress: Reformation; Sweater: Alexander Wang; Boots: Theory.
