The RIGHT Way To Style An Oversized Knit

I’m notoriously cold all the time and I don’t even live on the East Coast! I know, I know. Cue the tiny violins. One way I combat my perma-goose bumps is by having a ton of cozy knits in my wardrobe to layer with. I never leave home without one. Enter, the oversized knit coat.
Since it has a cocoon-like shape, styling this has been quite a lesson. For starters, always try it on. Knits look weird when displayed on a hangar and you can never tell its shape when folded. Take the time to head to the dressing room, trust me you’ll end up being surprised.

And, if you’re feeling stubby in it, pick a pair of shoes with a heel and wear dark shades from your waist down for a slimming effect.

One tip when hunting for your own oversized layers is to stick to neutral colors so that you can easily pair them with patterned blouses and tees. I love having a collared top peek through a sweater at the top or even layering with a statement necklace.
