Summer Nights: What To Wear To The NY Phil

New Yorkers relish this time of year. Yes, it's hot and humid, but summer is also when the city is most alive. Every rooftop plays host to BBQs and pool parties, and there are plays, concerts, and outdoor festivities going on in all the 'hoods.
But, my favorite summer activity is going to the New York Philharmonic Concert in the park. Four times a year, the NY Phil puts on a free show and it's honestly the perfect way to spend a summer night.

My friends and I pack blankets, wine, and cheese, then at 6 p.m. on the dot, we dash out of work to make it to the Great Lawn by magic hour. The sun begins to set, the temps cool down to the perfect 70s, and yes the fireflies come out to play — it's like a scene straight out of a Nicholas Sparks' novel.
My go-to outfit for such an occasion is practical but stylish. I reach for comfy cut-offs and wedges so that I don’t sink into the grass. And even though it's summer, I still bring along a light jacket. I live in this tweed/army green topper.
