I don’t believe in showing up to class in a T-shirt and sweatpants. Similarly, you won’t find me in exorbitantly high heels and a sequin top either. But, if your feet can handle sprinting down the hallways in 5-inch footwear, more power to you. For me, the key is striking a balance between something that is comfortable, true to my style, and appropriate for class and meetings with professors. So, here’s my daily uniform for winter school days.
This cardigan/coat hybrid by Ann Yee is the perfect grab-and-go topper because of its length and warmth factor. It’s basically like wearing a cozy blanket, but the cut and fabric brings a luxe touch that completes my outfit. A light sweater layered underneath is the perfect piece to combat unpredictable temps in the lecture hall. I mixed in this plaid vintage skirt because of my love for all things thrift. Other than that, some smart footwear and a sturdy backpack are all I need for days when my head is buried in books.
