An Oatmeal Recipe That'll Get You Right Out Of Bed

We may have Joy the Baker's infamous "Man Bait" Apple Crisp recipe committed to memory, but it's not the only reason we're loyal to this self-taught dessert maven. Joy's hilariously soulful commentary, undying devotion to butter, and her steadfast belief that cake is a perfectly acceptable breakfast choice is what really keeps us coming back for more.
I’ve been battling a cold for the last few days, and I must say, I’m a complete baby. It’s ridiculous that a little fever and a stuffed nose have me straight freaking out that I’m going to suffocate in the middle of the night. Let’s not even talk about all the paper towels I’ve used as tissue, and all the weird home remedies I’ve Googled and actually tried. I’ll tell you now that sucking on raw garlic is worse punishment than a sore throat. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Luckily, this creamy, sweet, and chewy steel-cut oatmeal was far from punishment. It’s my sniffle-inspired salvation.
