I can’t remember exactly when I stopped wearing eyeshadow, but it’s been years (years!) since it’s been a regular part of my makeup routine. I tend to stick with just mascara and liner to make my eyes stand out. It seems easier, I guess. But, now I’m rethinking my whole approach because of three pretty, shadow ideas from the Giorgio Armani, Burberry, and Rochas spring '14 runways.
They’re calling to me for a few reasons: 1) They’re all super-easy. I’m only interested in using ONE eyeshadow color at a time. 2) The colors aren’t too crazy. I love looking at pictures of wild yellow and electric blue lids as much as the next woman, but in reality, I’m not putting those shades anywhere near my lids. At least not today. Baby steps.
And, 3) There’s an element of imperfection. I don’t like it when shadow looks stamped-on and precise. The smudgy washes of color seen at all three shows are more my speed. Take a peek at what I’m talking about ahead. The exact colors used at the show aren’t out until next year, but I’ve included my picks to help you D.I.Y.
