Rebecca Minkoff Reveals How She Looks Stunning Every Morning, Makes Us Jealous In The Process

Rebecca Minkoff
We’ve all seen the woman on the street who looks effortlessly gorgeous — her hair is perfect, makeup simple yet flawless, and smile radiant. Cue the weird, total-stranger girl crush. Which is exactly what happened when I met fashion and accessories designer Rebecca Minkoff in a morning press preview. I was un-caffeinated and struggling to function, she was radiant.
I’m definitely not a morning person, so I’m always curious how glamazons like Minkoff and others spiff up in the early hours. So, I asked the dazzling mother of one to break down her morning routine in rapid-fire fashion, and of course, it doesn’t take much for her to shine. Read on for the simple secrets that keep this crazy stylish designer looking stunning in record time.

On average, how many hours of sleep do you get a night?
"This is a funny one! Depends if my son sleeps through the night! I hope for six."
What time do you normally wake up in the morning?
"7 a.m."
What’s on the menu for breakfast?
"I usually make myself a berry smoothie at home, and then at the office I order an egg white omelet with lots of vegetables, like spinach, broccoli, peppers, and tomato."
What products can be found in your shower?
"I love Fresh body wash. Sugar is also a favorite and their scrub is amazing, too! I love all their products."
What shampoo and conditioner do you use?
"I love TRESemmé’s volumizing shampoo and conditioner."
Fresh Brown Sugar Bath & Shower Gel, $18.50, available at Fresh; Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish, $38, available at Fresh.
How do you stay in shape? Is there a morning workout routine you do?
"Yes — three times a week I go to Body Space Fitness. I'm there by 8 a.m. so I can make it to work by 9."
Do you blow out your hair every morning?
"Not at all. I probably blow out my hair once a week and there's no special routine to it. I'm really laid-back about my hair. I have a T3. It’s super light and dries my hair really quickly."
What skin care products do you use on a daily basis?
"I'm a huge fan of June Jacobs. I use the Intensive Age Defying Hydrating Complex and the Cellular Collagen eye serum. It's amazing. I started using it and my face never looked better or more clear. For face wash, I’m super simple — I like Clean & Clear."
What's your fail-proof makeup routine?
"If it’s just a typical day, I put on a bit of Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 6.5 — it gives coverage but is very natural-looking. Then I use Benefit Benetint Rose-Tinted Lip & Cheek Stain, a little Diorshow Backstage Mascara in Black and I'm out the door. It's pretty low maintenance."
What's your signature fragrance?
"IF Eau de Parfum. It’s a bit floral, but also has a masculine edge to it. Not many people wear it, either, which I like."
Any go-to body products?
"Korres makes a great basil lemon body cream, and I use Ahava for foot cream."
Korres Basil Lemon Body Butter, $29, available at Sephora; IF Eau de Parfum, $40, available at Barneys; June Jacobs Intensive Age Defying Hydrating Complex, $130, available at June Jacobs; Diorshow Backstage Mascara, $25, available at Dior.
