As the adage goes, news travels fast. And, in a city as socially connected as S.F., "fast" doesn't even cut it — try lightning speed. That's why we local editors work around the clock to keep our eyes on the prize and ears to the ground to bring forth the buzziest and freshest headlines in and around our city. From a new space for a fave confectionery to the latest (weird) social-media craze, here's everything you need to know this week.
The design district makes way for another cool interior addition. EQ3 swings open the doors of its modern digs May 31 in the former Design Within Reach space. It features a stunning collection of decor must-haves and a curated Marimekko pop-up, which means you'll want to check it out, pronto. Home makeover, anyone? (EQ3)
Dandelion Chocolate is shuffling into a bigger space in the Mission — in the building that was rumored to be a new Google office. Phew! The warehouse on Alabama Street will be the third spot for the company, with a shiny new Ferry Building-based kiosk opening in June. (Racked SF)
Google's new prototype for its driverless car is certainly a sight. With no pedals or steering wheels, it has us a little sketched out — but it sure as heck is cute. Peep it. (CNN)
In case you missed this news, some random person dropping cash around the city is the latest social-media craze to hit S.F. — and shows no signs of slowing. Um, amazing. Keep it coming. (SF Gate)
Holla! Hayes Valley has two new shops to peruse. One in the form of the updated Reliquary space; the other, a boutique dubbed Gather. Who's down for a little shopping spree? (Hoodline)
