Elizabeth And James Spring '14 Reminds Us What Y2K Looked Like

For spring '14, Elizabeth and James pushes us a bit away from the '90s moment we've been having and toward Y2K. Of course, the Olsen twins probably understand that era of fashion pretty well, as it marked their coming-of-age, teen years. And, this time around, some of those major early 2000 trends seem quite appealing once again.
The maxi-denim skirt — not too different from the one you once DIYed by resewing an old pair of flared jeans — and cargo pants make an appearance in the lineup. Plus, tube tops and peasant blouses also find their way into the spring collection that boasts a mostly neutral color palette, with small pops of cotton-candy pink and pastel yellow. However, despite our brief feeling of nostalgia, there's nothing here that's outdated. And, frankly, we're actually pretty excited to try out the Elizabeth and James wares, and our once-loved trends, all over again.
