We Want To Get Lucky With Chanel's Fall Makeup Line

No, not that kind of lucky. Chanel's fall 2013 makeup collection, called Superstition, is based on Mademoiselle Coco Chanel's belief in luck. The designer would surround herself with talismans to ward off superstitious fears, and those lucky charms are the inspiration for the label's darkly romantic autumn cosmetics.
The standout from the collection are brand-new cream blushes, for which the brand has also created new coordinating lip colors to match. The six blushes and corresponding lippies are referred to as the "Lucky Charm" duos, although they are being sold separately and not as sets.
For the eyes, the color story is a golden khaki, with a limited-edition eyeshadow quad and mascara, plus a long-wear eyeliner that showcase the shade. There are also two single shadows in complementary hues of metallic taupe and matte lavender. Rounding out the line-up are three brand new Le Vernis nail lacquers: Elixir, a milky pink; Alchimie, a golden khaki; and Mysterious, a deep khaki.
We're loving the matchy-matchy lips and cheeks idea — it seems to be a continuation of last year's nail and lip pairs that we loved so much. We're also super into that golden khaki eye — it's moody and romantic without being too dark and dreary, plus will look equally amazing on light skin tones as it will on olive and darker complexions. The combination of metallic green with more traditionally feminine hues of pink and coral is unexpected, but definitely not unwelcome.
The products just launched on the website and are available for purchase now. Usually we'd say the nail polishes would be the ones to snap up, but in this case we're going to put our money (literally and figuratively) on that AH-mazing eyeshadow quad. It's limited edition y'all, so get it while it's hot (out).
Chanel Collection Superstition, $28.50-$59, available at Chanel.
