4 Hot New Restaurants And The Looks To Match

The sun's out, the season of love is officially here, and yet, we're having a hard time committing. With so many hot, new restaurants cropping up all over the city, we're going on as many first food-dates as possible. (How you doin' housemade tagliatelle?) And each venue deserves a fully-catered (pun intended) look all its own. We narrowed the taste-test foodie field by putting together four ensembles for four fresh NYC eateries. But with new spots and chic 'fits always at the ready, it's safe to say we're not going to be putting a culinary ring on it any time soon.
Circolo is Nolita's latest, most-welcomed restaurant addition nestled right next to Il Buco on hipster-heavy Bond street. The interior is bright and welcoming, the tequila-infused cocktails are strong, yet easy to sip, and the gnocchi is like the most high-end mac 'n' cheese you'll ever eat — forget the calories and just order it. We foresee this spot blowing up in the warm months to come so make sure you book your spots ahead of time (the tables are largely communal).
For the neighborhood and the resto (which also houses a secret downstairs lounge space, open only one-night a week so far), we recommend going casual-glam. This black-and-white outfit is impactful, but still not too dressed up.

This NYC newbie is exactly what you think of when you think of restaurants in the Meatpacking District (well, mostly). It's flashy, it's extravagant, but damn it's delicious. The overwhelming downstairs bar is fully stocked with things like Chartreuse and Earl Grey-flavored spirits. And upstairs in the dining room, lavish crystal chandeliers evince a warm, albeit grandiose setting. Point is, this place fits right in with the MPD, and is definitely somewhere to bring those out-of-town guests.
But, as it should be, the best parts of the restaurant exist on the plate. Oysters and fresh hamachi make great opening dishes to the homemade tagliatelle and beef tartare. Still, all this won't be so filling that you'd need to skip out on the crispy Dorade and well-aged steaks. Oh, and don't forget the deconstructed chocolate-cake dessert. As for your outfit? It should be just as surprising and decadent.

You may think the term "American Brasserie" has become more than overused in NYC's restaurant scene, but the West Village's new hotspot Charlemagne is anything but tired. From the owners of Sel Et Gras, the eatery culls inspiration from King Charlemagne, as well as the Greenwich Village historical district. Our favorite menu highlights include the raw bar (think oysters, lobster, and more), and the delicious Leeks Vinaigrette.
Mirror the laid-back neighborhood feel of the space with your favorite shorts and flats, but glam up your outfit with a pop of color. And don't forget to top it all off with a bangle!

When it comes to dining out, we're all for trying new things — and Jesus Nuñez's Melibea is all kinds of adventurous. The sure-to-be hotspot touts itself as Spanish with a Mediterranean twist, with inspiration from Greece, Italy, Israel, and more. While the menu stars are the numerous chicken, fish, and steak dishes, we're all about the stuffed mozzarella — after all, you can never go wrong when it comes to cheese.
The decor here is all about romanticism, so you'll fit right in if you don your sexiest dress. Go all out with higher-than-high neon pumps and a loud-and-proud clutch, and don't be afraid to have a little fun with your lipstick, too.
