Studio Stalker: Tour Eddie Borgo's Glammed-Up Nolita Studio

Update: This story was originally published on May 8.
We're suckers for a Cinderella story, and the tale of Eddie Borgo's rise to fame has all the hallmarks. The Southern-bred jewelry-wunderkind has taken his eponymous jewelry line from a one-man show to a bustling operation worthy of a sleek downtown studio, winning a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund grant along the way. His signature designs — ranging from an iconic cone-bracelet to all sorts of fantastical necklaces, earrings, and brooches — have garnered a cult following from downtown trend-setters and celebrities alike. After his brand's debut in a collab with Phillip Lim, editors and buyers alike are now clamoring for a piece of the Eddie Borgo pie.
To find out just what makes the charming designer tick — and to toast him for some well-deserved success — we visited his white-washed Nolita digs. What we got was an all-access pass to some of the most lustworthy baubles around, and the inside scoop on his inspiring tale. Read on to learn about the inspiration behind his incredible pieces, and see what's next from NYC's newest design star.
