Oh Look! Matches (Sorta) Changes Its Name, Rebrands A Bit

Starting today, designer-fashion website Matches has rebranded itself Matches Fashion. Okay, this isn’t the most startling name change on the planet (we’ll give that prize to Kering) but it does symbolize a shift in the company’s direction. As the founders Ruth and Tom Chapman explain, “We are now a global omni-channel retailer and in order to deliver the best luxury fashion experience possible we are aligning all of our platforms under one brand name, Matchesfashion.com.”
This name change follows a few recent exciting editorial hires, with Kate Blythe, formerly of Net-A-Porter, joining as the editorial and content director and Tilly Macalister-Smith, an ex-Vogue staffer, joining as fashion features editor. The site also boasts a weekly new-look magazine, The Style Report, to whet your shopping appetite. We can’t wait to see what’s in store from here, in more ways than one. (WWD)
