Thu Thu Rocks Our World With Beauty, Brains, & Vintage Blankets

Have you ever heard of the "think globally, act locally" notion? Well, Germany's color-bursting collection Thu Thu is sort of like the sartorial translation of this sound advice. Created by Thuy Duong Nguyen, the company's only a few years old but is demanding our attention in a big way. A Vietnamese-born designer, Nguyen finds inspiration from Eastern culture, using gorgeous and unique fabrics from Vietnam's Sapa region and working with women native to the Hmong Ethnic Group. She then transforms these raw pieces into truly special garments that pop with vibrancy and interesting texture.
We'll admit, we are quite new Thu Thu fans, but apparently, this line knows exactly what we like — quirky details, a slight tomboy edge, and a pretty lookbook featuring a girl, like us, who's on the go but never too busy to have some fun. With each piece combining both traditional Eastern influences and modern silhouettes, this is a collection that's filled with global inspiration, but, we believe, will excite any fashion lover in the world.
