Free People Goes Against The Grain For The Dark Rose Lookbook

Free People: Your go-to for festival-season staples. The boho-esque haven where you bought the faded, floral maxi-dress that always seems to invite compliments. The only place you want to shop as soon as you breathe in that first scent of spring. Right? Well, not exactly.
For the newest lookbook, the brand is switching things up a bit, breaking its own rules, if you will. Dressed in velvet sheaths and flowing jumpers covered with bursts of deep-red blossoms, model Elsa Hosk tells the story of a more mysterious romance.
It may be a far cry from the February collection, which had that signature light and airy vibe, but we love these looks just the same. Because, sometimes, when we've got a line's aesthetic already ingrained in our minds, a fresh outlook is just what we need to stay obsessed.
From hunter green, crochet detail to layers of chunky necklaces and cuffs, and, of course, Hosk's sultry, rouged lips, we think you'll agree that a bit of darkness can be quite seductive — yes, even in the midst of spring.
