From Left, Clockwise: Photos Via L.A. Antique Jewelry and Watch Show; Wavves; Amazon; Black Lips
Sometimes, L.A. is so generous with the heavy rotation of parties, screenings, and concerts, it's damn-near impossible to narrow down our weekly schedule to just five listings. So, we threw in an extra! Go on — peruse our six must-hit happenings for the week — we bet you won't find one posting that's not worth an iCal shout out.
Pining For Ryan Gosling? Switch Up Your Monday Night Plans!
So what if standby tickets are the only ones available? Head on over to LACMA this evening for your chance to see Gosling's latest gig as a tatted-up motorcycle stunt rider. Where: The Bing Theatre LACMA, 5905 Wilshire Boulevard (at South Fairfax Avenue); 323-857-6000.
Fear Not! You May Be Able To Tune Into Afraid Of Heights Pre-Album Release
With their fourth studio album, Afraid Of Heights, arriving later this month (March 24 to be exact), Wavves' Wednesday night show at The Echo will be a preview of sorts. Southern Rock Comes To SoCal With Solid New Tracks In Tow
What do you get when you put four dudes from Atlanta in a room with iconic British music producer Mark Ronson? You get the awesome sixth studio album from Black Lips, Arabia Mountain, featuring all the familiar stuff we love, with some new experimental sounds added in as well. Swing by El Rey on Thursday to give the latest tunes (sure to please both loyal fans and newbies) a listen.

Are you the type who seeks out the nearest jewelry display case at each thrift shop you visit? If so, don't miss the L.A. Antique Jewelry and Watch Show, where rare and unique pieces from the likes of Cartier, Rolex, Tiffany & Co., Harry Winston, Patek Philippe, and Van Cleef & Arpels will be up for grabs. Don't have a Richard Burton-esque honey to score you the gorgeous gems? Just treat the event like a fleeting museum exhibit and prepare to be schooled in the world of beautiful baubles.

Get Your David Lynch-Fix With This Must-See Screening
We know you've probably seen Twin Peaks countless times via Netflix, but why not take your obsession elsewhere — say, a legit movie theatre? For one engagement only, USC's Eileen Norris Cinema Theatre will be screening five episodes of the cult TV show. A Q&A with the show's actors Ian Buchanan, Caleb Deschanel, Mary Jo Deschanel, Robyn Lively, Chris Mulkey, Kimmy Robertson, Wendy Robie, and Kenneth Welsh will follow. Good thing we have an appropriate topper for just the occasion!
When: Sunday, March 24, 3 p.m.
Where: USC Eileen Norris Cinema Theatre, 850 West 34th Street (between McClintock Avenue and South Figueroa Street); 213-740-2311.
Round Two: LACMA's Event Calendar Is Just That Good
Yes, we already encouraged you to kick-off your week at LACMA, but we also support you making your way back on Sunday for Ed Ruscha's reception and book signing at the musem's Art Catalogues. The artist's son, Eddie Ruscha, will be playing records from his father's collection during the event. Four Papa Ruscha tomes will be available for purchase, ranging from $39.95 to $225 — a small price to pay for the L.A. legend's autograph.
When: Sunday, March 24, 4 to 6 p.m.
Where: Art Catalogues at LACMA, 5905 Wilshire Boulevard (at South Fairfax Avenue); 323-857-6000.
