Kelly Malone's Farewell Bash & Four More Things To Do This Week!

With Valentine’s Day out of the picture, and your stock of Girl Scout Cookies stacked up in your pantry, you may be wondering what other items you could possibly check off your to-do list this February. That’s where we come in. We’ve rounded up the best weekly happenings, from a killer pop-up shop filled with local trinkets to a carnival-themed speakeasy soirée that you’d have to be comatose to miss. Peep the list below for proof that February is really the shortest month because time flies when you’re having fun!
Storenvy Pop-Up Shop Opening Party
As much as we get a kick out of shopping for creative curios, it can be dizzying hopping from one browser page to the next while navigating the sites. That’s why we love S.F. venture Storenvy, since the online destination allows us to shop from multiple merchants in one cleanly curated spot. And for those of us who like to power off our laptops whenever we can, Storenvy has opened a pop-up shop for us to snag the goods IRL! The opening bash will feature a quartet of local designers, along with tunes, bites, and brewskies.
When: Thursday, February 21, 4 to 8 p.m.
Where: Crocker Galleria, 50 Post (at Montgomery Street); 415-393-1505.
Cost: Free with registration.
Lion Dance Party
Yummy Vietnamese food? Check. Adorable style? Double check! There’s no denying that the duo behind the foodie pop up Rice Paper Scissors, Valerie Luu and Katie Kwan, have got it goin’ on. And now they're adding party planning to their resumes by hosting a can’t-miss shake-your-tail-feather soirée, complete with lion-costumed dancers! The festivities center around the Chinese New Year, and will include jammin’ mixes by DJ Spinnety, and of course, scrumptious fare!

The Princess Project Taffeta Tea Fundraiser
As devoted fans of fashion, The Princess Project never fails to tug at our heartstrings. The local charity gifts donated prom dresses to underprivileged youth, so every gal can feel like the belle of the ball. Want to show your support for this awesome cause? Attend its second annual Taffeta Tea fundraiser this Saturday, a tea party filled with yummy delights fit for queen, with proceeds benefiting the project. Fancy that!

Speed Rack Fundraiser
We all know how tough it can be competing with other patrons for the bartender’s attention. But this Saturday, the roles will be reversed, as notable barmaids will be the ones competing — all for a good cause! At Speed Rack, the mixtresses who concoct libations at our favorite watering holes will be neck and neck battling to shake up the most delectable cocktail in front of a group of judges. Gulp! And best yet, seeing the melee in action will raise funds for breast-cancer research. We’ll cheers to that!
When: Sunday, February 24, 3 to 7 p.m.
Where: The Chapel, 777 Valencia Street (between 18th and 19th streets); 415-551-5157.
