Prabal's Well-Clad Army Of Models Wins The Fashion Week War

There are many stock phrases that can be attached to the recurring theme of war and the warrior in fashion, but "army of models" has never been a more literal descriptor than when referring to Prabal Gurung's latest show. For fall '13 the NYC-by-way-of-Nepal designer has made the new uniform for the urban warrioress, this time re-imagined to be equal parts flattering and fierce.
The majority of the collection lived in the army-green and navy-blue families, incorporating shiny leather harnesses, over-the-knee boots, and metallic pumps. Though the entire collection was cohesive, well-cut, and strong (in every sense of the word), especially memorable moments came in the form of a peplum anorak with a fur collar, a navy-blue leather bomber jacket with a matching flared pencil skirt, and a denim duo that had red floral permeating from the waist.
And, despite the hard-edged attitude of the entire fall '13 offering, the sweeping gowns that closed the show felt right at home, too. That is, because they had cut-outs and harnesses all their own.
